If you spend a lot of time on the Internet and have at least a passing interest in pol-IT-ics, then you've probably heard of net neutrality, even if you can never remember exactly what it means.

In fact, net neutrality is just the tip of the iceberg. The Internet's neturality was effectively compromised long ago. Yes, the Internet is already policed by corporate interests, which have many strategies for manipulating what people read and say online.

We might start by taking a look at the brewing war between Wikipedia, Citizendium and Google's new Knol project. Though I have a lot of respect for Wikipedia, I think it's political content is even more deeply flawed than most people realize. You can learn more about it by reading my pioneering article Wikipedia, published on Google/Knol.

And if you think Knol itself has problems, you might want to join my new Opera Net Freedom group. It features a blog and forums where you can discuss these things.
